this is a great website that i found...
well, i saw one of the authors on the daily show. i'm not gonna read it, but i'm interested in the ideas behind it. yet again, we're dealing with people that communicate en masse and exert tremendous power. the administration is achieving this with finely-honed rhetoric and even evil demagogy.

when i think about these issues, i admit, i wish i could control ideas and put them out there in people's minds just like the administration has managed to make fervent believers out of some ridiculous ideas. i want to do that!!!

of course, the ideas i want to push are half-baked and pointless, but i'm attracted to the ideas of power and mass hypnosis.

maybe i'll read it after reading a million other books on my list...

the beginning of the end

there's something to be said about art being pretty much like pissing in the wind nowadays.

when there's thousands of people making art, what's the point of mass media, when there's so much of it that it is hard for anyone to pay attention to all of it and then it gets limited again?

film, music, computer and digital art now is so compartmentalized and divided into little subcultures that i wonder if they're any better than the classical fine arts that had a sort of elitist aura about them.

i wonder if it's worth it to make art directed to many peoples or if it's is just better to approach your audience as limited and defined.
