the beginning of the end

there's something to be said about art being pretty much like pissing in the wind nowadays.

when there's thousands of people making art, what's the point of mass media, when there's so much of it that it is hard for anyone to pay attention to all of it and then it gets limited again?

film, music, computer and digital art now is so compartmentalized and divided into little subcultures that i wonder if they're any better than the classical fine arts that had a sort of elitist aura about them.

i wonder if it's worth it to make art directed to many peoples or if it's is just better to approach your audience as limited and defined.
